Serious Accident on Egnatia Odos: Worker Trapped Between Sign and Vehicle

A serious traffic accident occurred on Tuesday morning (May 6, 2025) near the Chalkidiki exit when a car collided with a roadwork sign. According to ERT, the incident happened on the Egnatia Odos highway where workers were setting up special signage for asphalt paving work. The car, under unclear circumstances, hit a work vehicle near the junction with the regional road. A worker became trapped and sustained severe injuries, requiring assistance from firefighters for his extraction. Initially, the car struck a warning sign, dragging the worker who was then crushed between the sign and a truck equipped with roadwork signage.
