Serious Accident in Pangrati: Two Women Critically Injured

A 78-year-old patient is in critical condition after the ambulance transporting her collided with a lamppost, injuring five people in total on Great Thursday afternoon (April 17, 2025) in Pangrati. The woman had already suffered serious injuries when she fell down the stairs at her home, prompting the ambulance to transport her to the hospital. A 53-year-old pedestrian is also being treated for severe injuries sustained in the accident, including heavy bruising on her left side. According to ERT, the 53-year-old will undergo surgery and may subsequently be transferred to an ICU. Another pedestrian involved has more minor injuries, though doctors remain optimistic about her recovery. The driver of the car and the crew of the private ambulance sustained lighter injuries. The accident occurred when the private ambulance initially collided with a car and then hit a lamppost on Vasilissis Konstantinou Street near Hilton. Police are reviewing security camera footage to determine the exact cause of the incident.
