A sequel to the movie ‘Twisters’, starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, is reportedly in development by Universal Pictures and Warner Bros, according to information from Daniel Richtman (via Maxblizz). The film released last July was an independent sequel to the successful 1996 ‘Twister,’ with a script by Mark L. Smith and based on a story by Joseph Kosinski. According to the synopsis, ‘Twisters’ focuses on ‘two opposing forces that meet to try and predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes in Oklahoma.’ Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the project achieved significant commercial success, grossing $372 million globally, far exceeding its $155 million budget. The film is now available for streaming on Prime Video. Production of the new sequel is expected to begin early 2026.
