On Friday, March 8, 2025, the golf course of U.S. President Donald Trump in Turnberry, Scotland, was vandalized by activists advocating for Palestinian rights. Local media today revealed images of slogans spray-painted in red paint on walls around the grounds. The activists sprayed messages such as “Freedom for Gaza” and “Freedom for Palestine,” along with derogatory messages directed at Donald Trump. They also painted “Gaza is not for sale” on the grass.
The organization Palestine Action claimed responsibility for the damage via a post on social media: “While Trump tries to manage Gaza as his property, he should know that his own property is within reach.” Last month, Trump sparked outrage in the Arab world when he unexpectedly announced that the U.S. would take control of Gaza, evict its Palestinian population of over 2 million, and transform it into the ‘Riviera of the Middle East.’
Scotland’s police are investigating the incident. “Around 4:40 AM local time on Saturday, March 8, 2025, we received a report of damage to the golf course and facilities at Maindaines Round in Turnberry,” stated a police spokesperson, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
