Former Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has strongly condemned recent arson attacks targeting New Democracy (ND) officials in Thessaloniki, stressing that violence has no place in a civilized, democratic society.
A Clear Message of Condemnation
In his statement, Samaras — who also served as former president of the center-right New Democracy party — denounced the attacks as “absolutely condemnable.” He emphasized that putting innocent people’s lives at risk in the name of politics is “abhorrent.”
Solidarity with Victims and Families
Samara expressed his sincere solidarity with the three ND officials targeted in the attacks and their families. He underscored that such acts cannot be tolerated in any democratic society.
“The attack in Thessaloniki against these three political officials is absolutely condemnable. To endanger the lives of innocent people in the name of politics is abhorrent,” Samaras stated, adding: “Violence has no place in a civilized and democratic society. Let this finally be understood by all.”
