Russia: Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg temporarily Closed · Global Voices

Pulkovo in St. Petersburg soon closed down according to Russian civil aviation agency Rosaviatsia. Arrivals and flight departures had been suspended at 07.45 (local time) to ensure the safety of civil aircraft to and from Russia’s airport, according to Rosaviatsia. CORVERSE The service did not specify why it suspended flights, but in the past Russian airports have closed when there is a risk of injuries by Ukrainian drones in the region. Alexandre Drozdenko, governor in Leningrad district involving St. Petersburg, said the Russian forces shot down two drones near Luga Bay in the Gulf of Finland. “The airport temporarily does not accept or send flights”, he had written earlier through Rosaviatsia’s Telegram representative app. “The crews of aircraft, air traffic controllers and airport services take all necessary measures to ensure flight safety – and this is the highest priority”.
