Russia has offered Ukraine a date and venue for upcoming peace negotiations to take place in the coming days, announced today (May 28, 2025) Vladimir Medinsky, head of the Russian delegation and advisor to Vladimir Putin. Russia awaits Ukraine’s response as soon as possible, confirmed the official, noting that he contacted Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov regarding the exchange of memorandums aimed at conflict resolution. Although the exact location of these proposed talks remains unclear, earlier today, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Constantinople could host the next round of negotiations. “I read the news circulating globally that Umerov called me about the memorandum, which we allegedly haven’t prepared yet. However, the opposite is true. I called Umerov today and proposed a specific date and venue for the meeting to exchange memorandums. There, we are ready to initiate substantial discussions on every point of the agreement-package for future ceasefire,” said Medinsky. Earlier today, Reuters reported that Western leaders are required to commit in writing to halt NATO’s eastern expansion and lift some sanctions against Russia.
