For abuse of power Hollywood authorities, Rudy Younglblad, who was arrested for assaulting police officers. American Hollywood actor Rudy Youngleblad describes the adventure he experienced in our country, with his arrest, transfer to an alien detention centre and release, ultimately, instead of his deportation from Greece for the knife attack on police officers. CORVERSE One day after his release from the foreign temporary detention center in Amygdaleza, the American Hollywood star, Rudy Younglblad, spoke and recounted his adventure. He still refuses to attack police officers. “It was dark and I was walking to the ATM and I saw six officers dressed in black coming towards me. I told them stay away from me, and I kept walking.” He gives a completely different version of what happened, but does not justify why the police should arrest him if, as he says, he did not draw a knife against them. CORVERSE “They never announced to me that they were police officers and then I thought it might be some people who want to rob me. I don’t know anyone here. They came and arrested me and I told them “what are you doing?” And they were trying to say I’m drunk. He put his hand on the gun and I say, ‘ What are you gonna do, shoot me? ‘ And he said “Shut up.” And I said “God, put me in jail.” “I use a knife to scratch pencils! “ To ask why he was carrying a knife, his answer probably doesn’t convince! “I use the knife to scratch pencils, but I never pulled it. I took it off and I touched it on the roof of the car and I told them take it, take it, what are you doing? I tell them you’re arresting me for what? They spoke Greek and did not understand what they were saying and did not speak English. They put me in the cell they locked me up and threw away the key.” “When they understood who I was they said ‘Oh, my God, Youngblad’” The American actor accuses police officers of abuse of power, however claims their behavior changed, once they realized who they had arrested. “What if I wasn’t famous? I’d still be inside. When they understood who I was, they said, ‘Oh, my God, it’s Youngblad,’ and then they wanted us to take pictures and give them an autograph and I was saying, ‘are you kidding me?’ The protagonist of the epic film Apocalypto argues that he did not know that his visa had expired, just two days before his arrest, while thinking that his adventure could be a film script. “For as long as I was in prison I said that what I’m living right now is like a movie. It’s incredible.” Within the next few days, however, he will be asked to leave the country, as this was the condition under which he was released and not deported by the Greek authorities, after the incident in which he starred.
