The temperature in the UK today (19.06.2025) hovered around 32 degrees Celsius—a mini heatwave by British standards. However, this did not deter the country’s aristocracy from attending the prestigious Ascot races under the leadership of King Charles and Queen Camilla. The royal couple arrived in a carriage; King Charles, who made a splash at Ascot with a black semi-formal hat, gray tailcoat, and yellow waistcoat, was accompanied by Queen Camilla in a soft blue ensemble and understated hat. The royals were joined by other high-ranking members of the family. The king and queen arrived for the third day of the races alongside Princess Anne and her husband Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as well as Zara Tindall and her former professional rugby player husband Mike Tindall. Over 10 members of the royal family maintained their composure despite the UK issuing its first heat warning since September 2023. As temperatures soared above 30 degrees Celsius, some spectators began to feel the effects of the heat. According to BBC, one person was hospitalized while 42 others received treatment on-site. With 41,000 attendees yesterday alone, staff distributed free water and installed additional kiosks and umbrellas.
