In 2024, in addition to WRC, Rovanera participated in a series of drifting matches, at Porsche Carrera Cup, while also doing Formula 1 tests before going to Japan for the Initial D project. The Initiative D is a comic book released in a weekly series in Japan from 1995 to 2013, focusing on races limited to mountain passes on public roads and made up much of the drifting culture around the world. Rovanera admits that he was heavily influenced by the famous comic when he was young. The comic series revolves around Fujiwara Takumi , whose father was a former rally driver something very common with Kale Rovanera , as well as Harry’s father was also a former rally driver, competing in the WRC from the 1993 to 2006. In fact, under the guidance of his father’s experts, Calle showed skill in drifting at the age of 8. In the video, the driver of the iconic T oyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 from Initial D has been digitally modified using AI technology to appear as Takumi Fujiwara .
