The prosecutor at the Mixed Jury Court of Athens, Vasiliki Demopoulou, has proposed that Roula Pispirigou be found guilty for the death of her daughter, Malena. The prosecutor emphasized that the accused delayed calling doctors by twenty minutes to ensure that her daughter would not return to life. It was argued that Pispirigou used a pillow to cause asphyxiation, evidenced by the absence of injuries which made detecting trauma more difficult. Furthermore, the prosecutor pointed out inconsistencies in the defendant’s account, noting that she provided four different versions of her daughter’s death. “I cannot comprehend how a mother does not have this event indelibly etched into her memory and changes her description every time,” stated the prosecutor. The trial continues regarding another case involving the death of Irida.
