Romania: Fire in Parliament – One Suspect Seeked

As Romanian police announced, a man who is considered “dangerous”, set fire inside the House, following an argument. Authorities have launched a huge operation for his arrest. “A fight broke out and the man then flew a flammable substance” into the visitors’ area, which is at the entrance of the building, before he fled,” became known by the police, in a press release. The fire was soon brought under control and there is no injured, however, about 300 people had to be removed preventively. According to a Romanian police spokesman, the man did not directly target people, but turned against objects on the site. He is considered a “dangerous person”. Law enforcement forces released a photo of the suspect, who appears to wear a checkered shirt and hold a black backpack. In Romania, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Daniel Suciu, reported that an unidentified person set fire to the Parliament building using gasoline.
