Rhodes: Woman Arrested with 2.2 kg of Cocaine After Disembarking from Ship

A 22-year-old Albanian woman was arrested by the police on Sunday (15/6/2025) immediately after disembarking in Rhodes from a ship arriving from Piraeus. Authorities found 2,248 grams of cocaine meticulously hidden inside her luggage. The operation was carried out following an investigation and surveillance efforts. The young woman did not resist during her arrest, and authorities are currently examining whether other individuals are involved in the drug trafficking network according to dimokratiki. Additionally, a 9 mm pistol, 49 rounds of ammunition, and €1,300 were also seized. The suspect is being held and is expected to appear before the prosecutor of the First Instance Court of Rhodes on Monday morning (16/6/2025) for criminal prosecution. Investigations continue to uncover the route and accomplices behind the transportation of such a large quantity of cocaine.
