Rhodes Tragedy: 3.5-Year-Old Girl Drowns in Pool Despite Doctors’ Herculean Efforts

A new tragedy has shocked Greece today (15.06.2025), especially the island of Rhodes, as a 3.5-year-old child drowned in a pool. The incident occurred in the Ialyssos area of Rhodes when the child was playing in a swimming pool at a hygiene-interest establishment under the supervision of her grandmother. Witnesses attempted to rescue the little girl from the pool, but she was pulled out lifeless and unconscious, according to rodiaki.gr. An EKAB ambulance quickly arrived on the scene, and rescuers immediately began resuscitation efforts. The child was rushed to the Rhodes Hospital, where the medical team was fully prepared, but unfortunately, they were unable to save her life. Specialist psychologists informed the child’s parents about the tragic event and are providing support. Authorities have been notified, and an investigation is expected to commence to clarify the causes of the young child’s drowning.
