Rhodes Scandal: Fake Certificates Sold for €1,200 – Shocking Revelations and Involvement of Urban Planning Head

in

A major investigation into corruption in Rhodes has uncovered a second scandal involving the sale of fake Proficiency certificates. The probe initially focused on illegal practices by urban planners demanding bribes for permits but has now exposed another network selling counterfeit language qualifications for at least €1,200 each. According to dimokratika.gr, both a 58-year-old special advisor to the mayor and a 49-year-old head of the Building Permits Department are implicated. Recorded conversations reveal how the 58-year-old admitted obtaining an English proficiency certificate for €1,200 through a 44-year-old intermediary based in eastern Rhodes. She then persuaded the 49-year-old to follow suit. The certificates were allegedly used for job promotions. The method involved specific contacts and processes, with potential implications for others in their circle. The case is under full investigation by Greek police, with legal authorities examining possible criminal liabilities. These revelations have shocked the island community.
