A 74-year-old German tourist has passed away after being hit by a 19-year-old driver in Rhodes on Friday night (May 9, 2025). The couple was vacationing on the island when they became victims of a tragic accident. The driver, an Albanian national without a valid driver’s license, lost control of the vehicle, seriously injuring the elderly woman. She suffered severe injuries to her leg, head, and chest, leading to her being placed on life support at the intensive care unit of the Rhodes Hospital. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. Her partner sustained minor injuries. The incident occurred in the Faliraki area, and the young driver has been arrested by the police.
