A shocking escalation has occurred in the case involving the alleged abuse of two minor twin siblings — a boy and a girl — on the Greek island of Rhodes. The 55-year-old Belarusian woman, who was already scheduled to stand trial for misdemeanors on 29 July 2026 following a prior postponement, now faces a second, far more serious prosecution.
A Grave Criminal Investigation
What began in 2022 as a social services inquiry into suspected domestic violence has evolved into one of the most severe criminal cases to confront Rhodes’ judicial authorities in recent years. According to dimokratiki.gr, new prosecutorial findings indicate that the accused will now be tried for three felonies — the most serious category of criminal offenses under Greek law.
Alleged Crimes Span Five Years
The Rhodos District Attorney’s Office, after reviewing all available evidence, concluded there are substantial indications of guilt warranting formal indictment. The alleged acts of abuse reportedly took place between June 2017 and 30 June 2022, when the case first came to the attention of competent authorities.
According to the prosecutor’s proposal, the woman — allegedly aided by an unidentified male accomplice — stripped the twins of their clothing, exposed them to explicit adult pornography on television, and used physical violence and threats to coerce them into sexual acts with both the man and herself.
She is further accused of restraining the children to prevent escape while the accomplice committed indecent acts against them.
Pornography Charges and Additional Abuse
Regarding child pornography charges, the prosecutor states that the woman allegedly filmed and photographed the minors using her mobile phone during these incidents — creating digital files she retained, at least temporarily, after their creation.
This is not the only disturbing incident under investigation. Authorities also allege that, while at a Rhodes beach with the twins, she placed hot stones and sand inside each child’s swimsuit. At her home, she reportedly removed their clothes and forced them to dance naked in front of her.
Additional allegations include compelling a minor to witness sexual acts without participating, and making the twins watch pornographic videos.
Origins of the Investigation
The probe did not initially focus on sexual abuse. It was launched following concerns about physical injuries linked to domestic violence — identified during a social services assessment prompted by contact from police with the children’s teacher. A court-appointed expert later documented the twins’ living conditions and described multiple incidents of abuse, as recounted by the children themselves.
