Early this morning (15/5/2026), a 52-year-old British man who had gone missing on the island of Rhodes was located — unharmed and in good health. His disappearance had prompted his family to alert authorities, launching an immediate search operation.

The man had traveled to Rhodes for a family vacation but became disoriented upon arrival. According to his own account to members of the Emergency Response Unit (EPOMEA) who found him, he mistakenly boarded the wrong bus — confusing routes — and ended up on the opposite side of the island, in the area of Ixia, rather than at his intended destination, Faliraki.

The search began yesterday afternoon after family members grew alarmed when he failed to arrive at his booked hotel. Neither the driver assigned to pick him up from the airport nor hotel staff had seen him. Compounding the difficulty, the man had accidentally left his mobile phone in a relative’s car in Manchester before departing for the airport — leaving no way for his family or authorities to contact him.
