Rhodes: 28-Year-Old Worker Dies in Tragic Construction Accident

A 28-year-old worker lost his life on Sunday morning (May 11, 2025) in a tragic industrial accident in the Kalathos area of Rhodes. According to ERT, the worker, originally from Agrinio, was employed by a company responsible for part of the construction project connecting the municipalities of Lindos and Southern Rhodes with the Gadoura dam (southern aqueduct). The unfortunate young man descended into the excavation site and was buried under falling debris when the retaining walls collapsed. Emergency services, including the Fire Department and an ambulance from EKAB, rushed to the scene for rescue efforts, but unfortunately, they were unable to save him.
