Renault: Agreement with employees for telework up to three days a week

Renault has signed an agreement with French unions that will allow thousands of its employees to work from home for up to three days a week.

The new workplace arrangements will be implemented in several phases, starting in September 2021, Renault said, adding that it will offer employees technical support as well as training on how to optimally work remotely.

This “hybrid” operating system will be voluntary and will be based on two working days from home per week, with an additional day at the discretion of the director, Renault added.

The company expects 20,000 employees in France to be in the program, which will cover all positions and specialties except those related to the production line.

Note that Stellantis has already agreed on similar working conditions with its French employees.

In the future, working conditions will change dramatically, as the coronavirus pandemic has shown that for many jobs the physical presence of office workers is not necessary.
