Record Temperatures in March – Over 33°C in Lasithi

The heatwave peaked on Sunday, March 16th, with record temperatures for the month of March as reported by meteo. The temperature surpassed 33°C, reaching a high of 33.7°C in Sisi, Lasithi, setting a new record for March. Additionally, Malia in Heraklion recorded 33.2°C. The average maximum temperature across the country was 8-10°C above normal levels for this time of year (average value from 2010-2019) for the second consecutive day. Moreover, over 190 of the currently active 532 weather stations recorded temperatures exceeding 25°C, while 21 stations exceeded 30°C.
