On Friday morning (May 23, 2025), a man was arrested for allegedly murdering a 41-year-old in a vineyard in Raphina. The suspect, an Albanian-origin male, was reportedly identified by the victim himself just before he passed away. The alleged perpetrator has been detained at the Spata-Artemida police station. According to the victim’s wife, he called her on Tuesday night saying, “Run, I’m dying,” and mentioned that “K… shot me in the head.” After that, his whereabouts were unknown until his body was found Thursday afternoon in a remote vineyard near the intersection of Arionos and Panagia Gorgoepikou streets in Raphina. Initially, the police suggested it might be related to settling scores, but the victim’s wife claims it was over property issues involving a €2 million house in Artemida. She stated that notifications about this house led to the final conflict. Speaking to newsit.gr, she described the events from Tuesday night: “He called me and told me who was hunting him and how he had been shot in the head. He asked me to hurry and help because he was dying. My husband was killed over a house. When I arrived at the scene, I found his phone miles away, and we located him with the help of his dog. Seeing him in that condition was incredibly difficult for me.”
