Rainy Weather Today: Clouds, Showers, and Strong Winds Across Greece

Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, is set to be a rainy day as clouds and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day. Alongside these conditions, strong winds and African dust will add to the already disturbed weather scene. According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), localized showers and clouds are anticipated in the western, central, and northern regions, with isolated thunderstorms possible in the northwestern areas. Sparse cloud cover will prevail in other areas but may thicken periodically. Despite the clouds and rain, temperatures will see a slight increase, reaching 16-19°C in the north, 18-20°C elsewhere, and up to 21-22°C in central and southern mainland areas and northern Crete. African dust will primarily affect the western and southern parts of the country. Winds will blow from southern directions at 4-6 Beaufort, locally up to 7 on the seas and possibly 8 in the Ionian Sea. Attica will experience sparse clouds becoming denser, with temporary local showers in the afternoon. The winds will be from southern directions at 3-4 Beaufort, gradually increasing to 5-6 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 6°C to 19°C.
