In a recent statement regarding the war with Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that there has been no need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine and expressed hope that such a need will not arise. In an excerpt from an upcoming interview on Russian state television published on Telegram, Putin claimed that Russia has the power and means to bring the conflict in Ukraine to a ‘logical conclusion.’ Responding to a journalist’s question about Ukrainian attacks on Russia, Putin said: ‘There has been no need to use these (nuclear) weapons… and I hope they won’t be necessary.’ ‘We have sufficient power and the means to lead what started in 2022 to a reasonable outcome under the conditions required by Russia,’ he added.
