A new Pulse opinion poll, aired by SKAI on Wednesday night (11 March 2026), reveals growing public concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East — particularly involving Iran and neighboring countries — as well as mixed but largely positive assessments of Greece’s efforts to bolster Cyprus’s security.

High Anxiety Over Regional Conflict

Some 79% of respondents say they are either ‘very’ or ‘somewhat’ worried about the military developments in the Middle East. Economic repercussions are the top concern for 39% of those surveyed, while 23% fear potential Greek military involvement.

Business owners, civil servants, and pensioners express the strongest concerns about economic fallout. Meanwhile, 53% report significant or moderate worry regarding Greco-Turkish relations.

Greek Policy Toward Cyprus Viewed Favorably

Seventy-two percent of citizens assess Greece’s actions to support and protect Cyprus as either ‘definitely positive’ or ‘rather positive’. Overall, 47% view Greece’s foreign policy decisions in today’s international environment favorably — compared with 44% who hold a negative view.

Skepticism Toward Potential New Parties

The poll also gauges public reaction to speculation about new political initiatives. Forty-three percent view negatively the prospect of a new party led by former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras; 41% react similarly to the idea of a party launched by Alexis Tsipras. A smaller but still notable 29% express disapproval of a potential party under Maria Karytsioti.

Voting Intentions

In terms of current voting intentions, New Democracy leads with 25.5%, followed by PASOK at 11%. The third position goes to Freedom Movement (Pléfsi Eleftherías) with 8%, then Greek Solution (Ellinikí Lýsi) at 7%, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) at 6.5%, SYRIZA at 5%, Voice of Reason (Fóni Logikís) at 3%, and MeRA25 at 2%.
