Prosecutor Requests Dismissal of Petros Philippidis Due to Doubts

The prosecutor, Andreas Karaflos, requested the dismissal of Petros Philippidis due to doubts regarding the incident in the dressing room at the Moussouris Theater. ‘You should dismiss the accused due to doubts about whether he had malicious intent,’ said the prosecutor. If a condemning decision is heard, the prosecutor stated that further appeals will be made on grounds of legal issues. Earlier, the prosecutor noted that they had reached the end of a long, expensive, and tumultuous trial and urged the court to reassess the facts from scratch, fairly, objectively, and logically. The prosecutor emphasized that the court cannot judge based on high probability of guilt but must rely on evidence and consider the personality and behavior of the victim. During his speech, the prosecutor analyzed the actual events surrounding the attempted rape in 2010 at the Moussouris Theater, focusing on inconsistencies and communications between the accuser and the accused after the incident. He pointed out 38 contradictions and questioned why the accuser communicated with the accused post-incident instead of seeking justice or police intervention. The prosecutor also discussed details inside the dressing room, emphasizing the impracticality of certain actions described by the accuser. Furthermore, he highlighted that the first accusation was not immediate, raising questions about the severity of the act or implied consent. The prosecutor concluded by addressing illegal evidence presented by friends of the accuser and suggested that continuous flirtatious communications indicated pre-existing conditions. The prosecutor’s statement will continue on July 1 for the second accusation of attempted rape in 2014.
