Prosecutor Accuses Roula Pispirigou in the Murder of Her Daughter Irida

The lead prosecutor at the Mixed Jury Court of Athens has strongly accused Roula Pispirigou of being guilty in the murder of her youngest daughter, Irida. After a twelve-hour presentation, the prosecutor stated that Pispirigou was the last person to see Irida alive at 7:30 AM. Acting almost in a sleep-like state, she obstructed the child’s airways and acted swiftly because her other daughter, Georgina, was sleeping nearby. The prosecutor pointed out that Pispirigou left evidence behind, including a pacifier, due to the dark room conditions. Motivated by an overwhelming desire to keep her marriage with Daskalakis intact, the prosecutor argued that Pispirigou’s egocentrism led her to commit these crimes. Criticism also targeted Dr. Angeliki Tsola, the forensic doctor involved in the case, for inconsistencies in her findings regarding Irida’s death. The prosecutor questioned why no investigation was initiated when clear signs of asphyxiation were present. Pispirigou’s mother reacted strongly against the accusations, questioning the prosecutor’s morality.
