On Tuesday morning (May 20, 2025), officers from the Organized Crime and Piraeus Security units conducted a raid inside Korydallos Prison. According to newsit.gr, the search targeted the cell of a hard-core Albanian inmate involved in a murder case. The police action followed an incident on Monday (May 12, 2025) when eight foreign detainees attempted to break into another wing by pressing buttons that open doors. The alarm was triggered, and thanks to the immediate and coordinated response of the prison staff, a major incident was averted. As tensions remained high, authorities decided to conduct a search of the Albanian inmate’s cell today. Inside, they discovered two mobile phones and a knife.
