Dressed in military attire and a beret, Prince William visited the Tapa military base in Estonia on Friday (21.03.2025). The base is where British and Estonian troops are trained. As the Duke of Cambridge and future king, Prince William is in Estonia to strengthen ties between the United Kingdom and Estonia within NATO’s eastern flank protection collaboration. In his role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Mercian Regiment, William attended a ceremony marking the start of the six-month deployment of The Royal Dragoon Guards in Estonia. On the second day of his visit, he will drive a Challenger tank and participate in battle simulation exercises. He also met with Estonian soldiers, visited a welfare center, and spent time with off-duty soldiers at the Naval, Army, and Air Force Institute store and canteen. ‘I’m glad to meet you all, kids, and I’m glad to be here,’ Prince William told the 13 soldiers he met. With humor, he asked them about their cooperation with the British troops. The soldiers responded positively, saying their experience was ‘good’ and ‘very successful.’ Prince William joked about the weather, noting the upcoming spring.
