Prince William Set to Make Drastic Changes to the Monarchy: Archie and Lilibet Won’t Be Royals

Despite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepping back from royal duties in 2020, it seemed they still held open the possibility for their children, Archie and Lilibet, to take on royal roles in the future. However, those plans may not align with Prince William’s vision for the monarchy. According to reports, Prince William intends to strip royal titles from his brother, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet. It has been five years since Harry and Meghan stepped away from royal life, during which they have openly criticized the institution. Despite their harsh stance, they reportedly wish for their children to retain the option of participating in royal duties if they choose when they grow up. The Guardian recently noted that Prince Harry allegedly wants Archie and Lilibet to keep the title of His Royal Highness (HRH), allowing them the freedom to potentially assume a role within the royal family in the future. While the 40-year-old Harry seems to hold this perspective for his children, it appears that sentiment is not shared across the UK. According to Hello! magazine, the future of the monarchy and the distribution of HRH titles may further change when the 43-year-old Prince William ascends the throne, as reported by Express. William is expected to follow his father King Charles’ example by maintaining a more compact and limited royal family. Consequently, the likelihood of Harry’s children taking active royal roles is considered unlikely. The Sunday Times reports that William plans to ‘cleanse’ certain aspects of the monarchy when he takes the throne, possibly including the official removal of HRH titles from his brother, Meghan, and their children. This situation has caused ‘bewilderment’ within royal circles regarding whether Archie and Lilibet will retain their titles or participate in royal duties in the future. Prince William himself has not publicly commented on the matter and continues to focus on his royal duties while subtly hinting at his plans for governing as king. During an official visit to Cape Town last year, William expressed his desire to lead ‘with empathy’ and focus on ‘helping people.’
