Prince Laurent of Belgium Admits Two Meetings with Jeffrey Epstein

Prince Laurent of Belgium, brother of King Philippe, confirmed today (02/02/2026) that he had two private meetings with convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein. The revelation came after his name appeared in U.S. Department of Justice documents released Friday concerning Epstein, who died in prison in August 2019. According to Belgium’s Belga news agency, both meetings were initiated by Epstein — the first in the early 1990s and the second in the early 2000s. The 62-year-old prince clarified he never met Epstein at any public or group event — a distinction made after initially stating he had ‘never’ attended any event with Epstein or his associates. Laurent explained Epstein contacted him multiple times during his internship period at the UN and a major New York bank. Epstein reportedly wanted to introduce Laurent’s parents to billionaire friends — a request Laurent declined. In 2012, Epstein reached out again, inviting Laurent to a Paris dinner attended — per Epstein — by a head of state and other wealthy, influential figures. Laurent declined that invitation as well.
