Prince Albert of Monaco Honorary Citizen of Elafonisos

Prince Albert of Monaco received the ‘key’ to the city as he was declared an honorary citizen by the mayor of the island, Angelos Tsirigotakis. This announcement came during a three-day international environmental dialogue and action event titled ‘Elafonisos Eco Week 2025’ (April 14-16). On the morning of Holy Wednesday (April 16, 2025), the show ‘To Proino’ revealed that during this visit, the mayor of Elafonisos asked Prince Albert to become an honorary citizen of the region, which he happily accepted. Not only did he visit this year, but he also embraced the honorary citizenship of Elafonisos, showcasing his love for Greece and the island. He participated in a symposium about Mediterranean protection and has developed a strong relationship with the mayor. The ‘key’ to the city was presented to him, along with a plaque declaring him an honorary citizen. Reporter Thanos Vagios noted that Prince Albert is a very humble person, and this marked his second visit to the island.
