Following a wave of reactions sparked by a verse in Light’s new song, the President of the National Confederation of Persons with Disabilities, Giannis Vardakastanis, has called for the immediate withdrawal of the track and intervention by the prosecutor. In a statement regarding the new song by Light, Vardakastanis emphasized during the broadcast of ‘You Haven’t Seen Anything Yet’ on Saturday afternoon (03.05.2025) that the rapper does not genuinely apologize and that the National Council for Combating Racism and Intolerance should intervene immediately alongside the prosecutor. Vardakastanis stated, “I do not want to be background noise for someone who doesn’t mean their apology. If we live in a country governed by the rule of law, the National Council for Combating Racism and Intolerance must intervene immediately. This is unprecedented for me—I am quite old—but I have never had to discuss such issues. All those involved in productions must ensure they do not violate the Constitution, rights, and dignity of their fellow citizens. We cannot call this a song when other songs like ‘The Sun of Justice’ by Mikis Theodorakis and Odysseas Elytis exist. It’s not art; it’s poison.” Vardakastanis further demanded the immediate removal of the song, urgent intervention from the National Council for Combating Racism and Intolerance, and the Prosecutor’s Office, as well as a special circular from the Ministry of Education urging educators to address this disgrace with students.
