Positive messages from the stable participation of the Municipality of Monemvasia in the International Tourism Exhibition PHILOXENIA

The 32nd International Tourism Exhibition PHILOXENIA, at the Exhibition Center of Thessaloniki HELEXPO, the largest international tourism exhibition in the Balkans and one of the largest in Europe, participated with its own booth host-view (Pavilion 13-Stand 3) central point of the exhibition space, once again, the Municipality of Monemvasia.
The PHILOXENIA is referred to as the most important, because while chronologically closes the circle of international tourism exhibitions this year in Greece, where it is basically the balance sheet, at the same time opens a new, that of the next tourist season that is coming.
Given the significant increase in both the quantitative and the qualitative sizes of the report, the leading role in the wider region has been confirmed in practice, since the overall traffic increased by 46% compared to last year’s event, with over 20,000 people pass through the gates, the number of trade visitors almost doubled, as the growth has touched 91%, while foreign trade visitors was by 70% more.
Following also the example of major relevant international exhibitions abroad, for the first time the business meeting appointments were made in a specially designed space which meets the most modern standards for the implementation of such meetings.
Thus, the attending representatives of the Municipality of Monemvasia, mr Takis Papadakis, Dimitris pollalis has been and Hrisa Σπυριδάκου, had the possibility in ideal conditions, to carry out repeated pre-scheduled b2b meetings with travel agents from Europe and the Balkans, presenting the diversity of the tourist product of the Municipality, as well as the tourist’s actions for 2017.
At the same time, in the kiosk of the Municipality, disseminated to interested parties forms and information-rich material and informed about the culture of the area, the rich tradition and tourist destinations. The interest from both visitors and travel agents has focused, among other things, the natural beauty of the area, new forms of alternative tourism, such as the religious, the historian, conference etc., while at the level of the billet has been very strong interest for boutique hotels and family hotels. Travel agents in fact, showed a keen interest since they hardly knew the area, which is synonymous with the big room there is for future growth in both visitors and the elongation of the tourist season.
