Porsche: 27% of sales are electric

In 2024 it was slightly declining in sales for , with -3% due to the economic recession in China, however the company showed a sales increase on the other four continents. Last year, Porsche fully renewed its range of models, with a generation change for four of the six model series: Panamera, Taycan, 911 and Macan. In 2024 Porsche sold 310,718 cars, but the share of electric sports cars increased from 22% to 27%. Almost half of them were purely electric. Typical is that the pure electric Macan, the second electric model of the brand, in 2024 sold 18,000 units. As regards sales, in Europe (except Germany), Porsche delivered 75,899 cars last year (+8% from 2023). In Germany with 35,858 units there was an 11% increase. With 86,541 deliveries, North America was again the largest sales area (1%), while in China 56,887 cars were delivered to customers (-28%). The fall is mainly due to the continuing provocative economic situation in this region. Porsche’s aim is to balance demand and sales. Overseas and emerging markets have again developed positively with 6% growth. A total of 55,533 cars were delivered to customers in this area. CORVERSE With electric Macan contributing decisively to the sales of electric Porsche, in 2024 18,278 pure electric models were sold. In most countries outside the EU, Porsche continues to offer the previous Macan as an option with an internal combustion engine, of which 64,517 units were delivered. Overall, Porsche delivered 82.795 Macan in 2024. This is a 5% reduction compared to last year, which can be explained, among other things, by the closure of Macan with an internal combustion engine in Europe and the gradual introduction of the fully electric model, worldwide. The iconic sports car 911 continued to enjoy great popularity in 2024 and, with deliveries of 50,941 units, recorded a 2% increase compared to 2023. The 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models recorded 23.670 deliveries (+15%). Taycan sold 20,836 units (-49%), as there was a model change and the increase in electrification generally progresses slower than planned. Cayenne which was radically revised in 2023 and became the best seller among Porsche’s six series of models in 2024, sold 102,889 units (+18%), while Panamera recorded 29,587 sales. The 13% drop is mainly explained by the lowest demand on the Chinese market.
