to its suspended president, Yoon Sook Yeol, issued a court of the country, as part of his attempt to impose martial law on the state of Asia at the beginning of the month, announced today, Tuesday (31.12. 24) researchers handling the case. “The arrest warrant and search warrant against President Yoon Sook Yeol (…) were issued this morning,” the agency carrying out the investigation at the expense of the fallen South Korean president said in a statement. TRANSPARENCY “No timetable was set for the continuation of these procedures,” he clarified. It is the first time in the history of South Korea that President in office has been targeted at such a decision of justice. Typically, Yoon Sook Yeol expects the Constitutional Court to rule on the decision to remove from the tomb, adopted by the South Korean parliament on 14 December. He has however ceased his duties until the country’s leading judicial institution confirms or cancels his dismissal. He has a deadline for this until mid-June. CORVERSE Yoon Sook Yeol caused shock in the country on December 3rd, when to general surprise he announced he declared martial law and sent the army to parliament to silence it. But he was forced to take these measures back by receiving suffocating pressure from the members of the national delegation and thousands of citizens on the streets. The once prosecutor-star, 64, defied three calls to go into questioning about the coup attempted, leading to the extradition of his arrest warrant yesterday. The service leader of his party, Guon Song-dong, described the extradition of an arrest warrant as inappropriate against acting president. ‘illegal’ and ‘black’ arrest warrants The arrest warrant issued today at the expense of South Korea’s suspended president Yoon Sook Yeol is “illegal” and “absolute”, his advocate denounced in a statement. As the issue will be judged in the Constitutional Court rather than by an investigation service against him, “the arrest warrant and search warrant (…) are illegal and invalid,” noted Yoon Kamp-kan, a lawyer of the president who was suspended by a decision of parliament earlier this month, arguing that imposing military law did not commit mutiny.
