Police Chief in Southern Suburbs Under Investigation for Corruption

The head of a major police department in the southern suburbs is under scrutiny by Internal Affairs. According to a report on Mega TV’s prime news bulletin, authorities are investigating whether the chief of this police department, which oversees a wide area including several nightlife hubs and affluent neighborhoods, has ‘vanished’ documents issued by the same police service. As stated by police reporter Vasilis Lampopoulos from ‘Nea’ and ‘Vima’, the investigation began when the chief was replaced. Central services were informed by another ELAS officer who suspected irregular activities by the said chief. The investigation is ongoing.
