PM Mitsotakis on OPKEPE: ‘If Gordian knots can’t be untied, they must be cut’

In a Facebook post, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressed the integration of OPKEPE into AADE and highlighted the need for its abolition. He emphasized that despite efforts, issues within the system have not been resolved. The prime minister stated, ‘If Gordian knots cannot be untied, they must be cut.’ Furthermore, he discussed various reforms such as the establishment of a new National Authority to protect consumers’ incomes, advancements in healthcare through electronic health records, and progress in regional development strategies. This move aims to create a unified, transparent agricultural payment system by absorbing OPKEPE’s responsibilities and personnel into AADE. Additionally, the government is working closely with European authorities regarding illegal collections of EU funds.
