According to newsit.gr, an eyewitness described the harrowing incident involving a 66-year-old woman who tragically lost her life after being dragged by a car driven by a 77-year-old woman in Piraeus. The accident occurred around 9:15 AM on March 20th near Papandreou Street. Despite speaking normally during the first ten minutes following the incident, the victim later succumbed to her injuries at Janion Hospital.
One of the last people to speak with the 66-year-old was a local greengrocer’s employee. He recounted how she had visited his shop earlier that morning and crossed the street afterward. Upon noticing her lying on the ground, he immediately called for emergency services. Initially, she was coherent and even expressed concerns about potential fire hazards at her home, urging him to secure her kitchen. After securing her home as requested, he returned and accompanied her to the hospital where doctors worked tirelessly to save her life.
Newsit.gr managed to obtain dashcam footage showing the yellow vehicle involved stopping nearby while its elderly driver rushed to the scene. Authorities swiftly arrived to document the event and gather statements from witnesses.
