Three individuals were arrested in Attica in connection with a major drug trafficking operation, following a coordinated police investigation. Authorities seized substantial quantities of cannabis, ketamine, cocaine, MDMA, ecstasy, LSD, and other controlled substances—including over 834 grams of raw cannabis, 131.6 grams of processed ‘cannabis chocolate,’ 522.5 grams of ketamine, and 122.7 grams of cocaine.
A Network Built on Secrecy and Specialization
At the center of the ring was a 41-year-old man described by police as the alleged ringleader. According to investigators, he had been actively involved since at least July 2026 in the procurement, storage, processing, and distribution of narcotics across western Attica. His home in Chaidari served as both a base of operations and a storage hub—dubbed a ‘stash house’—and he reportedly possessed specialized knowledge in drug preparation and packaging.
Transactions took place either at his residence or nearby locations, often using his personal vehicle. In some cases, drugs were shipped via courier services inside sealed packages—a method intended to evade detection. The suspect maintained a steady clientele and employed multiple security measures: a so-called ‘ghost phone’ for untraceable communication, coded language, and street slang to obscure conversations.
An Unexpected Figure: A Licensed Psychologist
One of the most striking aspects of the case is the involvement of a licensed psychologist from Piraeus. Investigators allege he supplied the ringleader with hallucinogens—including MDMA and LSD—as well as pharmaceutical-style pills. His professional background appears to have played a role not in treatment, but in sourcing and facilitating access to specific psychoactive substances.
Folk Singer Linked to the Ring
Among those identified as buyers was a well-known Greek folk singer. While no formal charges have been filed against her at this stage, her name surfaced during the probe as part of the ringleader’s customer network. Details about her level of involvement remain under investigation.
The Takedown
The operation culminated on Thursday, 27 August 2026. The 41-year-old ringleader and the Piraeus-based psychologist were arrested separately in different parts of Athens. During searches of their persons, authorities recovered small amounts of cannabis, €445 in cash, and a mobile phone.
A third suspect—a 45-year-old man—was also apprehended in flagrante delicto after purchasing drugs directly from the ringleader. Subsequent raids on residences and an office, assisted by a police detection dog, led to the seizure of additional evidence: 56.2 grams of MDMA, 39 grams of ecstasy, 180 pharmaceutical tablets, 100 cannabis-infused candies, 103 grams of 3MMC (a synthetic stimulant), €15,565 in cash, six precision scales, two cars, a motorcycle, and numerous handwritten notes detailing transactions.
All three suspects were brought before the competent public prosecutor’s office for further legal proceedings.
