Piraeus: Handcuffs to three minors for robberies – Identified and another one sought

After an organized operation the police arrested three who had formed a gang and also made thefts in areas of Piraeus. The operation was carried out by the Department of Narcotics and Criminal Detection of Piraeus in collaboration with the Departments of Criminal Investigation and Detection of Municipal Theatre and Muscat, as well as the Department of Security ‘Amphissa’ and arrested the three minors who systematically committed robberies and prominent thefts against elderly people in Piraeus. CORVERSE The investigation thus far revealed the involvement of the arrested in four cases of robberies and two attempts at houses, as well as two cases of theft, one in a house and one in the street in regions of Piraeus. It is noted that the arrested have previously employed the Authorities for committing house theft. As has emerged from the investigation, after a thorough preliminary investigation and after using information and data collection, the members of the organization, at least since mid-November 2024, formed a gang that made armed robberies in homes against older people. CORVERSE Minors entered the homes with their facial features uncovered by breaking doors or balcony doors. Then, with the threat of a knife, an air rifle or with force, they immobilized their victims or gaged them in some cases in various clothes and then removed money, jewelry, and cell phones. A special group of police officers was set up to dismantle the gang, who located three of the members of the organization and led them to the headquarters of the Piraeus Criminal Investigation and Detection Division where their criminal activity was certified and arrested. A case-file was formed against them, including another minor whose elements have been identified and sought, including additional four persons, parents of those involved in neglecting minor supervision. In investigations conducted in houses, as well as in the possession of the defendants, clothing items were found and seized that were worn during the robbery, as well as cell phones.
