Piraeus: Handcuffs for 13 Members of Criminal Organization Selling Protection – A Disobedient Policeman Also Arrested

Since Friday morning (4.7.25), an operation conducted by Greece’s FBI and the Extortion Department has been underway to dismantle two criminal organizations that were selling protection services to local businesses in Piraeus. The investigation, which eventually led to the exposure of these criminal groups, was prompted by a violent incident involving a pistol outside a bar in Piraeus in September 2024. So far, 13 individuals have been arrested, including a disobedient former police officer. During the raids, authorities managed to locate 150,000 euros and several weapons.
