An armed clash that occurred in April 2024 outside a nightclub in Piraeus has been solved, with Greek police announcing the arrest of 12 individuals linked to rival gangs involved in the incident. According to authorities, a significant amount of weapons and narcotics were seized during the investigation. Among the items confiscated were a pistol, revolver, starter pistol with a round in the chamber, hunting rifle, 14 different types of knives, two pistol magazines, numerous rounds of ammunition, 2.4 grams of cannabis, various anabolic steroids and pills, three cars, a motorcycle, and €175,470 in cash. One of those arrested was a port official. The confrontation began in the early hours of April 29, 2024, when members of both groups initially engaged in hand-to-hand combat before exchanging gunfire. Extensive searches led to the discovery and seizure of additional evidence, including clothing used during the clash and protective gear. The suspects, many of whom have prior criminal records, face charges including the formation of a criminal organization, attempted murder, dangerous bodily harm, breach of duty, and violations of drug and firearms laws. The investigation is ongoing.
