Pierarakis Announces Extension of Investment Clawback Until 2030

In a significant announcement today (May 14, 2025), the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Mr. Pierarakis, declared the intention to extend the investment clawback program until 2030 during the 6th ‘ygeiamou’ Conference. He emphasized that the clawback initiative has already been successful, leading to the establishment of 10 factories, 14 research centers, and 22 production units. The sector has generated €1.5 billion in investments. The minister stated that the clawback, equivalent to €75 million annually and partly funded by the Recovery Fund, will be extended and supported by national funds. Additionally, he announced an increase in state-funded pharmaceutical expenditure limits by €100 million annually until 2030. Addressing Greece’s debt, Pierarakis highlighted its rapid decline, predicting Greece won’t be the most indebted EU country by 2029. He also stressed removing barriers to economic growth, focusing on trade tariffs and digital health advancements like electronic prescription systems.
