In an intense and high-pitched tone, the renowned actor Petros Phillipidis concluded his defense today (June 23, 2025) at the Mixed Jury Court of Athens. “I never expected this, not even in my worst nightmares, and it happened. Don’t throw me into the trash just to finish this. Remember the essence of humanity; judge my life or death. Think if you were given a weapon and told to pull the trigger—would you? Your signature or vote might be the bullet that finishes me,” Phillipidis declared dramatically. Earlier, Phillipidis referenced actress Eleni Papadaki, who was dismissed by SEH as a whistleblower, and Angelos Sikelianos. The actor read a verse from Sikelianos’ poem, “Remember Lord…” and shouted, “This is their theater; take it!” He continued passionately, maintaining his moral stance and accusing those behind the allegations. Phillipidis claimed he had been living in exile within his own home for five years. When questioned by the court president, Phillipidis insisted the accusations were orchestrated after the pandemic, aiming to remove specific individuals from their positions. Despite multiple complaints against him, Phillipidis argued these were organized efforts targeting him and others for their jobs and financial benefits. During questioning, Phillipidis’ lawyers left in protest over what they perceived as inappropriate inquiries. Throughout the trial, Phillipidis faced numerous questions about alleged incidents, including a second accusation of attempted rape, which he vehemently denied.
