The former publisher Petros Kostopoulos has opened up about the difficult period following the closure of IMACO. “After the collapse of IMACO, I suffered a psychological breakdown,” he revealed in an interview on ‘Studio 4’ on March 19, 2025. He elaborated on the mental health struggles that followed, stating, “You can go through severe depression, take medications. It’s not just one thing; it’s many things.” Kostopoulos admitted he should have realized earlier that everything was coming to an end because his actions affected his children. “For someone who loses everything after giving everything, it’s incredibly hard,” he confessed. The challenging times also led to his divorce, which only added to the difficulties. Despite these hardships, Kostopoulos found solace in public support. “Today on the street, I get the best image from people greeting me,” he mentioned. He emphasized that during tough times, children serve as the ultimate lifeline. “You might even think about taking your own life, but seeing your child and considering what they would endure if you made a mistake is enough to keep you grounded,” he concluded.
