Peskov Dismisses Epstein-Kremlin Link Claims as Unproven

The Kremlin dismissed on Thursday (05.02.2026) Polish allegations that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein may have been an agent of Russian intelligence services. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated the Kremlin ‘does not want to waste time’ responding to ‘unsubstantiated’ claims reported by Western media and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Until now, Epstein was primarily viewed as a serial sexual predator who operated a systematic network exploiting women and children. However, Western media reports increasingly cite long-standing, shadowy ties between Epstein and Russia’s highest political and economic elites. On Tuesday (03.02.2026), Tusk announced Warsaw would launch an investigation into potential links between Epstein and Russian intelligence—and their implications for Poland. He stressed growing evidence pointing to possible Russian intelligence orchestration of the scandal, warning of serious national security risks, including blackmail material against current leaders. Peskov responded dryly to Reuters: ‘I’d like to joke about such claims—but let’s not waste our time.’ Russian officials suggest the allegations are a distraction tactic, aiming to shift attention from the hypocrisy exposed among powerful US and European figures. While Russian references appear thousands of times in US Justice Department court files, no major international outlet has yet published conclusive evidence linking Epstein to Russian, Israeli (Mossad), or US (CIA) intelligence agencies.
