A guide was killed and six Frenchmen were injured in Peru by a fall. The tragic incident occurred in the Kuzko tourist area, one of the most popular attractions along with Machu Picchu. From a thunderfall in the Kuzko tourist area, in southern Peru a guide was killed and six French tourists were injured by a thunderfall, local police announced. The lightning struck the team, while hiking Mount Viniconka, also called a term of seven colors, located in the heart of the Andes, about 100 km from the city of Kuzko. In a press release, local police reported that French tourists, aged 22 to 40, are being hospitalized in Kuzko. They have suffered ‘burns and other injuries’, supplemented without further details of their health status. The term of seven colors dominates at an elevation of 5,200 meters. The colors that make it up are the result of sediment layers accumulated over a million years. It is one of Peru’s most popular tourist attractions along with Matsu Picchu. Since the beginning of the year, five people have been killed by lightning in the Andean regions of Peru, according to the civil protection service.
