Permanent Training Mechanism for Unemployed and Workers by ESFΑ

in

A permanent mechanism for the unemployed and workers is being examined to address the constantly changing needs of acquiring new skills, such as digital ones, for both the unemployed and employed. Well-informed sources from newsit.gr in relevant services of the Ministry of Labor and ESFA indicate that it has not yet been clarified whether this mechanism will be purely governmental, purely internal-enterprise (i.e., training will be conducted by the companies themselves), or a mix of government and enterprise models. The scenario of a permanent training mechanism operating through a platform where both unemployed and employed individuals can access at any time is gaining momentum, especially as the major cycle of training 500,000 unemployed and employed individuals via the Recovery Fund nears completion around mid-2026. So far, according to the same sources, 350,000 unemployed and employed individuals have been trained and certified, with an additional 150,000 beneficiaries being prepared. After the certification of these final 150,000 beneficiaries, ESFA must plan the subsequent model of training on both technical (e.g., shaping a permanent mechanism) and financial levels. In terms of the funding aspect of the planned training mechanism, it will rely on ESF but also national resources, say the same sources.
