The tragic death of a taxi driver on the evening of Sunday, March 16, 2025, caused by a 22-year-old driver who ran a red light at an intersection in Peristeri, continues to stir emotions and outrage. When the light turned green, the taxi driver proceeded with priority through the intersection. At the same time, the car driven by the 22-year-old was moving along Leoforos Thebon. Eyewitnesses reported panic at the scene as the two vehicles collided violently, transforming into a mass of mangled metal. Emergency services, including firefighters, were called to extricate the injured from the severely damaged cars. Toxicology tests revealed the young driver’s blood alcohol level exceeded 0.60 grams per liter. In an exclusive interview with Live News on April 1, 2025, the widow of the 47-year-old taxi driver stated that there had been no communication whatsoever from the 22-year-old’s side.
